Eseguita da un team di ricercatori dell’Istituto nazionale di geofisica e vulcanologia (Ingv), Cnr (Consiglio nazionale delle ricerche), Ogs (Istituto nazionale di oceanografia e geofisica sperimentale), Università della Tuscia e Università di Bologna e promossa, finanziata dal Comando generale delle Capitanerie di porto – Guardia costiera che ha messo a disposizione varie unità navali, aeree e terrestri per la sua realizzazione, ha validato un sistema scientifico con un preciso obiettivo pratico: mettere le autorità marittime nazionali e locali sulla strada per gestire in tempo reale le perdite d’idrocarburi, cioè per individuarle, eseguire analisi di campionamento sul loro contenuto e risalire alla fonte dell’inquinamento.

Performed by a team of researchers from INGV (Istituto nazionale di geofisica e vulcanologia), CNR(National Research Council), OGS (National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics), University of Tuscia and Bologna University and promoted, financed by the General Command of the port Captaincies-Coast Guard that has made available several naval, airborne and land units for its implementation, has validated a scientific system with a precise practical objective: get national and local maritime authorities on the way to handle real-time leak of hydrocarbons, i.e. to find them, run on sampling, analyze their content and trace the source of the pollution.
